Back to IndexWhat happens to any photos once they are uploaded?
Your pictures will form part of the Celebrating London database and will become part of the project record. They may be used in Exhibitions, Magazine Articles etc. and the terms of use are set out below under section entitled Copyright and Reproduction Terms and Conditions on our website.
Back to IndexWhat photos should I post to the website?
The name of the game is diversity – diversity of images, of events and of approach (style, genre etc.).
Photographers may upload a number of images to show the full spectrum of the event but two very similar images taken by the same photographer should not be uploaded. So, to explain a little more, if you attend a Carnival, you may have pictures of people arriving, dancers on the parade and details of costumes etc. but please use your discretion and try not to load up to the website too many similar images.
Back to IndexWhat’s in and what’s not?
Images can be taken at any publicly accessible event, festival, parade etc. within the boundaries of Greater London. Private events are not acceptable.
This project lends itself to many different genres of photography e.g. street, environmental portraiture, sports, documentary, creative but they must be appropriate and they must meet the project brief of photographing London’s cultural depth and diversity through its many public festivals and events.
Back to IndexWhat equipment do I need?
You don’t need any special equipment for this project. Any device which captures images, including phones and tablets, will do.
